Rename the duplicated fitting when importing new ones

Post by Shalmon » Sun Jun 05, 2016 5:18 pm

Hi,

would be cool if we could just rename the new fitting when importing.

If you run into this problem at the moment, you have to press "no" (because you don't want to delete a fitting), search for the ship, come up with a new name for it and then import the new fitting again.

This is even worse when importing multiple fits from EvE:

Let's say because you ask for suggestions for a drake fitting in your corp chat.
Your friendly corp mates provide you with 5 fittings.
You want to import them into EvEHQ to compare them, which causes problems because if you click at a fit in chat, they are all named "Drake"
So after the first import (if you have no ship named "Drake" in EvEHQ) you have to go and rename every fitting before importing a new one.

If EvEHQ would just ask for a new name when it detects a duplicate when importing, you could just enter that name and continue importing fittings.

You know if you validate the import anyway, it will add a number after the name, like "drake 2" ? :p

Hmm, I actually never tried that, assuming that it will just overwrite the old fitting
So maybe you should add a note for clarification that EvEHQ adds that number :D

But rename on insert would spare me going through my fits and rename drake 2-5.
